Bear Tree Rental Properties, LLC purchased the property in June of 2006 and immediately began restoration, renovation and construction mindful of preserving as many and as much of the historic elements as possible such as the original beams in both Memory Lane and Sleigh Run dining rooms; original floors in most of the building and original doors to the five available suites for lodging.

The Inn at Bear Tree featuring Murphy's Steakhouse opened to the public on December 7, 2007.

As with other Bear Tree properties (Woodland Cabins on Route 3 and Lakeside Cabins & Lodge on 1st Conn. Lake), The Inn at Bear Tree accentuates the historic past of the Connecticut Lakes region and has a rustic feel with memorabilia and photographs from the past. Our guests enjoy the rich traditions of the old lodges of the past with 21st Century comforts.

The Inn at Bear Tree is located on six acres of land with many beautiful perennial gardens scattered throughout the property. The view of 1st Connecticut Lake and Mount Magalloway are spectacular. The Inn at Bear Tree is in the heart of the outdoor recreation available to our guests; direct access to snowmobile trails, snow shoeing in the winter; swimming and kayaking in the pristine waters of the Connecticut Lakes in the summer and of course being on the direct route of Moose Alley for viewing of local wildlife such as moose, deer, bear, turkey and many other examples of wildlife.

A complimentary continental breakfast is offered in Sleigh Run dining room for all of our guests. Unlimited long-distance calling is also available to our guests as well as wireless throughout The Inn.

During daytime and non-service hours of Murphy's Steakhouse, our guests can enjoy the comfort of our den which serves as a common area for conversation, games or watching television.
